How I Can Help Your Reader

Every student's plan is built around an initial assessment of their specific needs. Sessions are one-on-one, structured, and designed to build skills in a clear sequence.

OUR SERVICES

Decoding & Phonics Support

For students who struggle to sound out words, mix up letters and sounds, or read slowly and laboriously.

I use systematic, explicit phonics instruction to build decoding skills from the ground up — phonemic awareness, letter-sound relationships, syllable patterns, and word-reading fluency. This is the foundation everything else is built on, and it's where many struggling readers need the most support.

Best For: Early readers, students who guess at words instead of decoding them, and students showing signs of dyslexia or other reading difficulties

Reading Comprehension

For students who can read the words but struggle to understand or remember what they've read.

We work on the skills that turn decoding into real comprehension: vocabulary, background knowledge, identifying main ideas, making inferences, and monitoring their own understanding as they read. Instruction is grounded in Florida's B.E.S.T. Standards for English Language Arts, so the strategies your child learns reinforce what's happening in their classroom.

Best For: Students who read accurately but still struggle with retelling, answering questions about a text, or following multi-step directions in reading.

Writing Support

For students who avoid writing, struggle to organize their ideas, or get stuck before they even start.

We break writing down into manageable steps — from forming sentences and organizing paragraphs to expressing ideas clearly. I focus on building both the mechanics of writing and the confidence to get ideas down on paper without feeling overwhelmed.

Best For: Students who struggle to start writing tasks, organize their thoughts, or produce writing that reflects what they know.
