I've spent the last 10 years in elementary classrooms watching kids fall in love with reading — and watching others quietly struggle, convinced something was wrong with them. That was never the case. They just needed instruction that matched the way they learn.

I'm a Florida-certified K–6 teacher, certified in all elementary subjects with a reading endorsement. Reading is my specialty, and it's the foundation almost everything else in school is built on — including math, where the difficulty is so often reading the problem rather than solving it.

I've worked with students at every stage of reading and math development, including many who needed more intensive support than a busy classroom could always provide. My training is in structured literacy — explicit, sequential instruction that builds skills in a deliberate order rather than hoping they click on their own. It's the approach reading research supports, and it's how I teach every subject.
